Double Stroller Accessories

unnamed Double Stroller AccessoriesWell you want to buy a new double stroller but don’t know what to look for. It is tricky enough working out whether to get a travel system, fold up stroller, pram that lies flat etc. But let us say you have made that decision, how do you then choose the best of the rest.

I think the best way to choose is to look at double stroller accessories. Firstly the basics. You will need a hood for your buggy so that you can protect your babies or toddlers from the sun. If you don’t you will have to invest in an umbrella which are tricky to get at the right angle and easy to forget when getting everything you need together. The other basic accessory you need is a rain cover. These can be hard to buy, and if your stroller isn’t a standard size you will have to go searching for the right one. So it is essential that you make sure the stroller has one when you buy it. Then you also know that if you ever need a replacement rain cover then the manufacturer will have some available.

Some pushchairs come with a clock on the handle. This is great if you are trying to get somewhere as it saves you having to move your hands off the pushchair handle to pull up your sleeve to see your watch, or having to stop to find your mobile phone. You can also get some with a small compartment on the handlebar where you can keep a few tissues or wipes or a snack for your children. This is good too as if you are just popping down to the shop for a few minutes you don’t have to worry about taking the whole nappy bag with you.

A lot of strollers have a shopping basket underneath. This is great as you can fill it full of items and it wont overbalance the stroller like you can if you use clips to hold bags onto the handle. It is easier to push when the shopping is underneath too as the bags don’t keep hitting your legs as you walk along. Some come with bag clips on the sides of the handles. If they do then it means that the stroller is sturdy enough to carry some weight on the back, but you need to be careful that you don’t put too much weight on it so that it falls backwards if you let go of the handles.

A lot of strollers come with cosy toes. These are great to snuggle your newborn in on cold winter days. However, by the time they are 1 they have often outgrown them, so you need to work out whether your baby will be young enough through a winter to make it worth investing in these. They can add quite a large amount to the price of a stroller.

So double stroller accessories are certainly a consideration when choosing a double stroller.
